Enipeas is a gorge and small river in the Pieria regional district in Northern Greece. It is probably the largest river on Mount Olympus and flows into the Aegean Sea at Gritsa the port of Litohoro town. The Enipeas Gorge is a well-known hiking area and attracts many visitors with its untouched, wild beauty. At its source, near Prionia, the brook forms a number of basins, the water temperature of which is only slightly above freezing point.
Nevertheless, these pools are among the most popular bathing opportunities on Olympus. Enipeas. It bears its name from the point Prionia where a somewhat larger spring rises near the hiking trail E 4 at an altitude of 1,300 m. The Enipeas runs largely in an easterly direction and falls with a steep gradient to the valley. In two kilometers it overcomes 200 meters in altitude, passes the old monastery of Agios Dionysius and continues there through the deeply cut gorge. Our Mt.
